A hemp cultivar originally bred by the Stanley Brothers of Colorado, the tale of Charlotte’s Web strain is as interesting as the book from which it took its name.
It was created to treat the epilepsy of a girl name Charlotte, who suffered up to 300 seizures a day. The story goes that this strain reduced that number down to as little as one a day and sometimes none at all. Consequently, this made it something of a medical revelation.
Charlotte’s Web has a high CBD content of around 13%-17%, with less than 0.5% THC. As a result, it’s perfect for medicinal use.
A sativa-dominated hybrid (roughly 60/40%), the hemp-derived strain produces spindly, fanned leaves. Leafy green in color, with dark orange hairs, Charlotte’s Web has an understated appearance.
The piney fragrance is incredibly fresh and comforting, giving off a forest-like aroma.
Subtle, minty and citrusy flavors further enhance this crispness, giving it a cool, light taste.
As a CBD dominant strain, you won’t experience a heady buzz, or any intoxication. However, you will reap the full rewards of its medicinal properties. As well as being great for alleviating epilepsy, as originally intended, it can also help with reducing pain. This makes it ideal for those suffering with Parkinson’s disease too.
The physical ease it provides can also reduce stress and anxiety, giving you a relaxing, bodily uplift.
